Style So Simple's Guide to Styling the Bed Wall Part 2...

Updated: Jan 31, 2023

Hey everyone,

How is your Friday going? I can't believe it is Friday already! and its JUNE!! WTH...

Anyways lets chat interiors :) Last week I shared the 'Style So Simple Guide to Styling the Bed Wall' which is linked here if you want a little recap. :) I had quite a few design ideas that I couldn't fit in one blog so today I am sharing Style So Simple's Guide to Styling the Bed Wall Part 2!... woohoo!

Let's get straight into it. Today I have five new bedroom designs with something for everyone's taste and of course some styling tips. I am looking at how to style with a four-poster bed and how to style if your bed is between windows. Clients find this one tricky so I think some of you will like this. I have a super lux look, like nearly Essex lux for you glam babes, my favourite 'The who needs a bedside table?' :) and a fun way to work with mirrors :)

So, guys, grab your coffee, sit back, and get inspired :) And as always, enjoy xx

OPTION 1: ADD SHELVING...

# Interior Design Tip

I love this option not just because you get loads of new storage but because it adds great interest to the bed wall. Its also a great option if you do not have the space for bedside tables or cabinets. A little tip is to have some decor boxes or baskets so you can hide your smaller messier items like chargers etc :)

OPTION 2: THE FOUR POSTER...

# Interior Design Tip

Ahhh, the four-poster. People do love a four-poster bed but oftentimes are not sure how to style it. The main thing you want to do here is to keep the beautiful four-poster as your focal point while also balancing the overall look.

So how do we do this?

The best way I have found is to work with a simple colour palette, texture and layering :) I know I sound like an annoying Interior Designer but there is a method to the bull chit-chat :)

So try adding a juju hat to the centre wall instead of bold art and if you want to add art why not work with the walls above the side tables? People always forget this area but try not to; its a great little space to add a pop. Then layer with your table lamp and ta-daaa... Cute bedroom with a four-poster :)

OPTION 3: GLAM WITH SOME LUXE...

# Interior Design Tip

The glam with some extra luxe,, Now I have to be honest this is not my style but so many people love that uber-glam look and why not? Its shiny, pretty and screams luxury. When we are working with this style bedroom I have found lots of the headboards are extra high, you no for that extra luxe like :) So I love to add a chic and large mirror above the bedside cabinets. It both complements the higher headboard while also adding to the glamours look.

OPTION 4: MIRROR MIRROR...

# Interior Design Tip

So like options 3, I wanted to share an option showing a different way to add mirrors to your bedroom. So not the topical over the bed over the dresser look. Why not try adding them above your bedside table? This again is a great option for a smaller bedroom and darker bedrooms. As it will catch more light in the space and also make the room feel larger. Now I love LOVE this but some people just do not like it. So I like to call it the marmite reflection :) Get it.

OPTION 5: WINDOW DETAILS...

# Interior Design Tip

Last but not least I had to throw in a tricky one and how to style around it. So lots of people have their bed between two windows and are like ''Fab I love it, feck I cant have a bedside cabinet!'' Well, not true. You absolutely can add your bedside table or cabinet and you can even add floor-length curtains. again this look is all about balancing the view. So when adding curtains add one half to each window this will connect the window to the bed and keep your focal point centre :)

So lovelies which is your favourite option? I hope you enjoyed it and got some inspo and tips for your interiors :)
