Happy Monday everyone! I think this is the first weekend in so long that the weekend actually felt like a weekend!
There are sooo many more people about and my local market started back up so I nearly ate every pastry under the sun! Also I am soo delighted that the travel ban has been lifted on Monday and I am heading straight down to Kerry after work today! What about you? Any new plans with the restrictions easing off?
Anyways what I'm going to chat about today is a general guide to rugs. There is nothing like having a cosy soft rug in any room, they bring colour, pattern and texture into our interiors but it can be tricky to figure out what size to get and where to place them! So lets look at rugs, where to place them, how big we need them and what not to do with them :)

LIVING ROOM
Make sure the front legs of the furniture are on the rug.
The rug should have at least 15cm on each side of the furniture.
Typical sizes are 200cm x 290cm, 200cm x 300cm, 240cm by 300cm, 250cm by 350cm.
DINING ROOM
Make sure the dining chairs are all on the rug around the entire table.
Make sure the rug extends the table at least 20cm on each side.
Leave at least 30cm of floor around the perimeter of the room.
Typical sizes are 170cm x 240 cm, 200cm x 290cm, 200cm x 300cm.
BEDROOM
Kingsize Bed:
Leave at least 20cm of space from the nightstands to the beginning of the rug.
Make sure the rug extends past the bed by at least 30cm.
Typical rug size for a kingsize bed is 200cm x 270cm, 200cm x 300cm.
Double Bed:
Make sure the rug has at least 20cm of space on the sides of the bed.
Typical rug size for a double bed is 160cm x 230cm, 170cm x 240cm, 200cm x 250cm.
