Okay, so when it comes to designing like a pro-Scandi, you gotta go real on everything. Well except fur… Lets never do real fur… But when it comes to everything else especially the Christmas tree you gotta go real. For décor try to keep it minimal, just add white fairy lights and a few dainty décor items and voila!

I feel like I am always talking about layering items and adding texture but this is prevalent when designing in a Hygge style. As we are not looking at too much colour we need to get our depth from somewhere else also Hygge is all about being extra cosy… Nothing makes a room feel cosier then adding more soft cushions and throws… Bundle all these elements with your everyday furniture to create the ultimate space for some cosy downtime.

Your style is in the detail, work up your Christmas day dining with simple plates, textured napkins and leather straps. This combo of materials and texture is the perfect mix of Hygge style. Designer Tip: If you do not have leather strap try using some rope, this would look sooo cute too!

It is always fun to get new cushions and throws for Christmas and it is by far one of the easiest ways to transform a room. But instead of going for the typical red cushion go for a more neutral palette mixed with patterns and texture. This will create that perfect calm hygge ambience.
